The Smugmug Family

So many things in life seem to be about intention. I guess that’s why I’m so drawn to companies who startup on their own without venture capital or vast sums of money. They want to make money, obviously, but there’s something more – these companies are started out of passion, due diligence, and hard work. They follow their hearts. Take Smugmug.com, for example. This company began in 2002, with competitors of Kodak, Sony, and Canon. This family run company’s intention is to actually run the company, not sell it to someone. They stay true to their goal of offering a spam free, ad free website to upload your photos, share them with others, and print them. They currently have 350,000 paying customers who agree this is worth paying for.
