Find out How to List your Biz with the Canadian Stock Exchange

I received this press release the other day and hope it's not too late to let everyone know about the conference to be held today Oct. 1 here in Phoenix at the Arizona Biltmore regarding the benefits of listing your company on the Canadian stock exchange, which is especially timely given the current US market downturn. Not only do they aim to work with small to medium enterprises underserved by US markets, they claim to offer a more stable economy.

The schedule and information is found below. Hope someone out there can make it and let me know how it went.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2008, TMX Group (TSX:X) will hold an information session in Phoenix, Arizona addressing the benefits of listing on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange. This session will the fourth of seven scheduled to take place across the US as part of the company’s 2008 business development campaign to increase US awareness and listings.

Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange are world leading markets for micro to mid-cap public companies, and are the most favored foreign listing destinations for US companies, with 140 US listings. Moreover, we are the world’s leading markets for the mining sector with over 55% of global public mining companies currently listed on our equity exchanges.

The reach of Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange extends internationally, providing access to capital for more than 3,900 companies. $2.2 trillion USD in issuer market capitalization and leading-edge trading technology make TMX Group’s exchanges a dynamic source of North American capital.

At the event, remarks by Tom Kloet, CEO of TMX Group, and Kevan Cowan, President of TSX Markets, will be followed by presentations from Lorne Abony, CEO of Fluid Music, and Andy Larson, CFO of MicroPlanet Technology Corporation, who will touch on their companies’ experiences as US-based entities listed on a Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange respectively.
